Angels Way Community Fund Raises €1.2 Million

The Angels Way community fund has successfully raised €1.2 million from 436 small investors, aiming to invest in 20 early-stage Portuguese startups. This initiative offers investors not only a financial opportunity but also a chance to actively participate in the growth journey of the startups they support. Managed by OW Ventures, a firm specialized in early-stage investments, the fund represents a significant step towards democratizing access to startup investments.

Currently, the fund is awaiting regulatory changes to reduce the minimum investment ticket, which is presently set at €50,000, to allow even more investors to join. With entry tickets starting at €1,200 and a maximum cap of €50,000, Angels Way is designed to open doors for smaller investors interested in engaging with innovative companies and contributing to Portugal’s vibrant startup ecosystem.

According to José Serra, partner at OW Ventures, Angels Way is “the greatest revolution in investment democratization since the creation of the stock exchange.” This bold vision reflects the fund’s goal to break down barriers and enable a wider audience to benefit from startup success stories.

Most investors involved in Angels Way are themselves startup founders or professionals with extensive experience, eager to share knowledge and help young companies thrive. Additionally, the fund attracts seasoned investors curious about its unique approach and looking for access to new investment opportunities.

By combining financial participation with community involvement, Angels Way is paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic startup investment landscape in Portugal, fueling innovation and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
